The Nutbourne branch was a former Little Chef restaurant located on the A259 (formerly the A27) in Nutbourne near Chichester, West Sussex.

The restaurant started as an independent known as the Black Cat Cafe. When it was first built, the restaurant was located on the A27, a single carriageway road, and was therefore able to serve both sides of the road. The cafe was housed inside of a large, three floored building with the design of a converted house.

Between 1972 and 1976, Forte got their hands on the Black Cat Cafe and replaced it with a Little Chef restaurant. This was the era when Forte were buying out existing transport cafes so that they could replace them with Little Chefs in order to expand the chain. The Little Chef opened and was given number 109. At some point, an extension was built to the Little Chef in order to enlarge the restaurant size.

In the 1980s/90s, the new A27 dual carriageway opened to the public. As a result, the old A27 (the road the Nutbourne Little Chef stood on) was renamed the A259.

Sadly in 1993/94, the Little Chef at Nutbourne sadly ceased trading. However, all was not lost as the Little Chef happily reopened as a Chinese Restaurant known as the Beijing Palace. It is still operating today.
