The Little Chef first opened in the 1970s in a small building that looks like a traditional Welsh house. This was the era when, in order to grow Little Chef quickly, then owners Forte dispatched teams to go around buying up existing businesses to convert to Little Chefs, Lloc looks to be one of those sites.
In the 1980s, a new dual carriageway was built taking the line of the A55 slightly away from the Little Chef site. However, all was not lost and the Little Chef found itself located just off the slip road that enters the A55.
Between 1988 and 1989, the Little Chef ceased trading (because of the openings of Kinmel Park East/West, formerly Bodelwyddan) and was taken over by a small cafe known as the Dragon's Rest Cafe. An extension to the cafe was built in 2009. The cafe is doing well as an independent.
