The Builth Wells branch is a Little Chef restaurant located at the junction of the A483 and A470 near the town of Builth Wells, Powys.
Opened in 1984/85, the Little Chef at Builth Wells was built in order to increase Forte's representation of the brand in Wales. It was housed inside of a large brick building with a pitched roof and wooden gable and was built nearby to a filling station which presented a great opportunity for Little Chef to attract additional custom from the facility.
The Little Chef has all the ingredients of a successful site. It was located at a junction of two major roads (A483/A470), off a roundabout making it easily accessible and easily spotable, and right next to a fairly big population source in the form of Builth Wells. When Granada took over the Little Chef in the mid 1990s, a small extension was added to the building in order to house a Burger King, giving the site a wider range of facilities and a chance to attract custom to the Little Chef.
The Little Chef and Burger King are both still happily operating today, despite other Little Chef closures on the A483 and A470.
